Ingapirca

This area has the highest percentage of indigenous population in the country. The canaries are among the largest group that still wears the original attire and live in conditions that resemble those of the 18th Century. The Ingapirca Inca ruins are located in this area and are the center of the local culture. El Tambo and Azogues are the closest cities where educational facilities are offered and where the government has presence with social assistance and medical services.

It is being implemented at a slow pace. It is within this array of social assistance programs that the work of volunteers and interns could take place. Placement and housing would be no problem. The region receives many visitors because of the local attractions, but there are no programs that offer the possibility of living and working within the community.

 

All applicants applying for programs located outside of Guayaquil will be required to pay a special placement fee. All volunteers and interns will be accompanied by an EcuaExperiencia representative.
