Malecon del Salado: Environmental Education

This is associated with the Malecon 2000 foundation. It is located on the estuary (salt water) and the idea is to start training elementary school children on the importance of recycling, waste management and global warming. School groups are brought by their teachers on an appointment basis as part of geography field studies. This placement is ideal for people interested in environmental education as well as project planning for classes in contemporary global environmental issues. Volunteers can function as aides for this project assisting in the activities and teaching of the children.

Volunteer Role/Skills Required

With this placement, interns will be expected to assist teachers in their daily routines. Interns will be aides to the teachers, helping them set up for class and take care of the students during the school day. Interns may also help set up projects and assist any clubs or groups that are established.
