Chamber of Commerce: Internships in Event Management

The local Chamber of Commerce has a membership of approximately 9,000 members and has an exclusive facility located downtown where meetings are held and conferences gather. It is led by a US Graduate who has a major in hotel and event management and will supervise the work of the interns.. It is very active in sponsoring events of national and international reach in different areas, including management, government and leadership. During recent years, they have hosted events such concerning: Martin Luther King III, Jose Maria Aznar, International Cacao Exporters conference, and Leadership in Local Governments. International participation is a big part of Guayaquil’s mission.

Volunteer Role/Skills Required

Interns may be assigned specific projects such dealing with community development, tourist relations, or international relations and development issues. General office tasks will also be a responsibility of interns. Appropriate dress and professional behavior is expected of all interns.
